What Does Overall Wellbeing in Women Mean?

Women's health is a critical aspect of overall wellbeing. It encompasses physical, mental, and social health and is influenced by factors such as genetics, lifestyle, environment, and access to healthcare. Women have unique health needs and concerns, and it is essential to understand and address these issues to promote better health outcomes.

Physical Health

Physical health is a fundamental component of women's health. It involves maintaining healthy habits such as regular exercise, a balanced diet, and proper sleep. Women should aim to engage in moderate-intensity physical activity for at least 150 minutes per week, such as brisk walking, cycling, or swimming. A balanced diet should include a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Proper sleep is also crucial for overall health and wellbeing. I recommend a minimum of 7 hours of sleep.

Reproductive Health

Reproductive health is another crucial aspect of women's health. It involves the reproductive system's proper functioning, including menstruation, fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. Women should be knowledgeable about their reproductive health, including their menstrual cycle, contraception options, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Regular screenings, such as Pap smears, mammograms, and pelvic exams, can help detect potential issues early and improve outcomes. Bring in tune with your cycle and ovulation can give a great insight into reproductive health. A female not on hormonal birth control should have a regular cycle with positive ovulation and little PMS symptoms.

Mental Health

Mental health is an essential component of overall health and wellbeing. Women are at higher risk for certain mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, due to hormonal changes, life stressors, and social expectations. It is crucial to seek professional help if experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition, such as persistent sadness, anxiety, or changes in mood, appetite, or sleep. Eating a nutrient dense diet can significantly help mental health.

These are just 3 main points in women’s overall health to touch on. I hope this short post helps spark some interest in learning more about your health!
